Welcome to my blog – a catalogue or collection of links to matches from the world of Lucha Libre.

I have been watching wrestling on and off for just over 25 years now. It was back in Feburary 2025 I dipped my toe into watching the world of Lucha Libre, something that I hadn’t done previously. Before I knew it - I had watched 100s of matches and followed numerous lucha libre and luchadores pages on social media.

The one thing that I found watching matches (since they are mostly all on Youtube) is I had a tough time keeping up with the ones I had watched, wanted to re-watch and matches I hadn’t watched yet. I have a watch list with over 900 matches or events and numerous playlists. I was getting lost.

 

This is why I have started the blog to post up all the links to matches with tags and information associated with each so that I can find them when I want them and everyone else can get a link to the match to watch. This will not be a blog for rating or critiquing matches I might give a brief personal account on a match but generally if it is up on there it will be something that I have enjoyed watching.

 

The information I will post up with each link will be type of match, participants, the promotion and date. I will source that information from the videos that are posted and then if I need to fill in gaps they will be from sources such as Cagematch, Wrestling Data, Lucha Wiki, promotional posters, promotions social media, luchadores social media and general searching.

 

In most cases video links will be from world of lucha libre or have a luchador / luchadora who is at an American, British etc promotion. There will be just a couple of videos that have neither will be included lucha de apuestas category. 

 

I also want to point out that I do not speak or understand any Spanish out side of the handful of words that I now know. I am relying Google translate for anything I need to translate.

 

In my little voyage of discovery I found that I really love the Lucha de Apuestas matches – or bet matches. This is where mixture of masks, hair, titles, careers and money is put on the line for the outcome of the match. There is drama, tension, in most cases a lot of blood and when a mask is taken can be really sad.

My starting point has been finding the matches of my current favourite luchadores have been in and then expanded to the point I am currently adding each match I see to my watch list. However I have one rule that they must either include the bet payment or at least I am able to find a video of this separately.

The lists will be categorised as: 

🟣  Mask vs Mask Máscara contra Máscara Matches

🟠  Mask Vs Hair Máscara contra Cabellera Matches

🟢  Hair vs Hair Cabellera contra Cabellera Matches

🔵  Combination of Mask, Hair, Title, Career or Money Matches

Matches that are described as Lucha Extrema. There are Lucha de Apuestas matches that will be cross referenced as lucha extrema due to the nature of the match. Not all matches are described as lucha extrema but will fit into the category.

My list of matches will include: 

🩸 General Lucha Extrema (as described)

🩸 Death Matches (and any variation of death matches)

🩸 Cage (Jaula) Matches (and any variation cages, cells or domes)

🩸 Hardcore Matches, Street Fights, No DQs, Last Man Standing (and any variations)

🩸 Ladders, Tables and Chairs (and any variations)

🩸 Casket, Coffin, Ambulance, Stretcher and Dumpster Matches (and any variation where the goal is to get an opponent into or onto something to win)

🩸Strap, Chain, Collar and Rope Matches (and any variations where the wrestlers are tied together)

🩸 Barbed wire and Explosives Matches (any variation)

🩸 Other Matches (matches that aren't discribed as extrema or fit in to any of catagories but have the significant use of objects as weapons and significant intentional bleeding.) 

These will be matches I really enjoyed and favoured but don’t fit into lucha de apuestas, lucha extrema or luchador vs luchadora categories. In most cases (not all) these will be matches that feature a luchador/luchadora I am a fan of.

Matches were Luchadores and Luchadoras are aganist each other. It is a topic that can be can be controversial I enjoy the matches I have seen. I wont post up links to anything that to me feels uncomfortable to watch because I would have no plans to watch it again. They are rare matches to see and find. Not all matches will be one on ones there will be multiple participants however the rule is that they have to have luchador vs. luchador in the match.

Matches I watch that don't fit into any of the catagories are referenced under "Matches". They are also cross referenced with Luchadores/as on their respective pages. 

Notable luchador feuds will be any series of matches by same group of luchadores and/or luchadoras

Matches that are have members of the same family in matches against each other.

🟦   Uncle/Aunt vs Niece/Nephew

🟦   Cousin vs Cousin

🟦   Any significat fight between members of tag teams and stables subsequently from joining the team
